HGV2 Driver

Salary: £10.00 per hour

W.E Roberts is offering the exciting opportunity for a HGV2 Driver to join our leading corrugated cardboard manufacturing firm based in Northfleet. The right candidate will be a hardworking, dedicated and reliable individual who is flexible and willing to learn and take on new skills.

Due to the nature of the role you must have at least 2 years HGV Class 2 experience.

Duties for the role will include delivering palletised cardboard goods in a Class 2 vehicle - mainly in the South East. This will include multi-drops & multi-loads.

Key Requirements for the role:

  • You must have a relevant HGV Class 2 license, digital tacho card and CPC qualification
  • Good communication skills and the ability to communicate with clients at all levels
  • Good attention to detail especially in terms of paperwork
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently, observing all Health and Safety Requirements
  • Ensuring that all deliveries are completed within the required time limits where possible, without compromising on Customer Service or safety.
  • Ensuring that all safety/maintenance checks are carried out, reporting all faults as well as keeping vehicles clean and tidy.
  • Excellent communication skills – to advise of any problems/delays/traffic problems/load issues
  • Occasional weekend work a must.
  • Positive "can do" attitude.
  • Efficient and experienced in route planning.
  • You need a sense of urgency without compromising on Health and safety or other legal responsibilities.

Forklift Driver

Salary: £8.00 per hour

W.E Roberts is offering the exciting opportunity for a Forklift Driver to join our leading corrugated cardboard manufacturing firm based in Northfleet. The right candidate will be an experienced Fork-Lift Driver with a Counterbalance forklift licence who is a hardworking, dedicated and reliable individual who is flexible and willing to learn and take on new skills. They will work on the 14.00 to 22.00 shift.

Due to the nature of the role you must be physically fit and flexible in your approach to work and tasks.

Duties for the role will include:

  • ensuring that the truck they are driving is in a safe condition and all pre drive checks have been carried out and recorded;
  • responsible for seeing that all machines in the conversion area have both board & pallets at their disposal at all times and are never waiting for these to be brought to the machine;
  • taking finished product out of the conversion building;
  • loading finished product onto the lorries;
  • assisting the loader on the day shift when required;
  • strapping pallets down on lorries;
  • arranging for lunch/dinner time cover as and when required with fork truck supervisor;
  • ensuring that you clear the palletiser line of finished work;
  • ensuring that exits/fire exits are kept clear and accessible at all times;
  • and any other duties as authorised and necessitated by the needs of the business.

Key Requirements for the role:

  • counterbalance forklift license is essential (please do not apply if you are not qualified for this position)
  • previous forklift experience is desirable though not essential;
  • able to speak English (to a standard);
  • physically fit;
  • willing to work shifts;
  • reliable;
  • punctual;
  • willing to learn;
  • hard working; and
  • flexible.

Conversion Assistant/Factory Labourer

Salary: £7.50 per hour starting rate

W.E Roberts is offering the exciting opportunity for a Labourer to join our leading corrugated cardboard manufacturing firm based in Northfleet as a Conversion Assistant assisting the Operators on the machines by loading and feeding them. The right candidate will be a hardworking, dedicated and reliable individual who is flexible and willing to learn and take on new skills.

Due to the nature of the role you must be physically fit and flexible in your approach to work and tasks.

We are currently recruiting for multiple staff to work on one of our three shift patterns; Monday to Friday 6.00am to 2.00pm and 2.00 pm to 10.00pm and Sunday to Thursday 10.00pm to 06.00 am.

Duties for the role will include:

  • feeding board onto feed sections of machines;
  • stacking boxes onto pallets;
  • stacking finished goods onto pallets;
  • stacking pallets;
  • checking bundles;
  • basic hand gluing and running of the hand gluers; and
  • assisting competent operators to carry out general duties within the environment.

Key Requirements for the role:

  • previous factory experience is desirable though not essential;
  • able to speak English (to a standard);
  • physically fit;
  • willing to work shifts;
  • reliable;
  • punctual;
  • willing to learn;
  • hard working;
  • flexible; and
  • understanding of corrugated processes (desirable).

Administrator - Permanent

Salary: £15,000 per annum

W.E Roberts is offering the exciting opportunity for someone with administrative experience and a high attention to detail to join the busy Office in our leading corrugated cardboard manufacturing firm based in Northfleet as an Administrator. The right candidate will be an organised, hardworking and reliable individual who is flexible and willing to learn and take on new skills. You should be a professional individual who can handle confidential material.

The position will involve general administrative duties, including:

  • order processing;
  • stock control;
  • filing;
  • answering the telephone;
  • arranging couriers;
  • arranging agency drivers;
  • the issuing & control of uniform for all employees;
  • running reports;
  • ordering of pallet and board; and
  • processing delivery notes and invoices.

Key Requirements for the role:

  • previous administrative experience ideal;
  • reliable and punctual – with an excellent attendance record;
  • high attention to detail is essential;
  • good level of organisation;
  • excellent communication skills;
  • ability to work well independently as well as part of a close knit team;
  • good knowledge and experience of Microsoft IT Systems;
  • excellent telephone manner; and
  • ability to use own initiative.
